Silo Season 3 Episode 6 | Apple TV+
Whereas episode 5 of Silo was a spectacular display of fireworks, episode 6 is the aftermath, sweeping up the confetti, tallying up the casualties, and secretly laying the groundwork for another explosive episode. The episode, named “The Drive,” replaces last week’s jaw-dropping events with something more subtle: political maneuvering, family drama, and a journey down the road that makes carpooling seem like a breeze in comparison.
Juliette now remembers everything. This is good for Juliette, but bad for pretty much anyone who stands in her way towards uncovering the truth about the Safeguard. Here is an overview of where things stood before getting into episode 6.
Silo Season 3 Recap: Episodes 1-5

In Episode 1 (“Who Are You?”), we were thrown right back into Silo 18 during the period following the airlock explosion which had left Juliette and Bernard severely burned. As Juliette was recovering at Medical, Camille Sims and IT slipped her Vitamin D+ drugs, which would serve as memory suppressants, posing as regular vitamins so as to remove all of her memories from the outside world and Silo 17. “The Before Times” arc featured Daniel and Helen, whose interest in an attempted military mission to Iran was going to cause them a lot of trouble.
Camille Sims was already in control of her position as the Head of IT in episode 2 (“It’s All Good”). She followed the orders of the Algorithm but always claimed that everything was okay. But guess what, everything was far from being okay. Meanwhile, Daniel and Helen continued unraveling the truth behind the disappearance of Steven Price.
Juliette went to look for Lukas Kyle in the mines in episode 3 (“A Dark Web”). This was very dangerous because this was almost her last journey. In the Before Times, Daniel and Helen almost found out the truth through one recording.

Episode 4 titled “Whatever You Do, Don’t Go Home” raised the temperature even more. As Juliette begins to have some suspicions about her lost memories, Camille is instructed to take care of Juliette before she unravels the truth. Robert Sims steps forward for this assignment himself, and that can never be good news. Meanwhile, nurse Amy, who is covertly going against the memory suppression program, sedates the wrong patient and saves Juliette from her predicament. And just when the audience thinks this is the end, the real twist comes in at the end when Juliette discovers Bernard Holland, badly charred but alive, in the Digger Void.

In episode 5 (“Memory”), Bernard’s question got fully answered. Robert had been safeguarding him from his wife all along. The Order, which refers to a group of around 50 silos and The Safeguard, a doomsday system that can destroy an entire population through command were also revealed to us. In one of those great strokes of brilliance by the writer, it is not George’s watch but his old Pez dispenser that triggers Juliette’s memory. Sometimes the universe does have a good sense of humor.

Silo Season 3 Episode 6 Recap: Everything That Happened
There is no attempt by episode 6 to beat last week’s revelations; indeed, this is not necessary for the episode. The sixty minutes are spent ratcheting up Juliette’s plan, Camille’s marriage, and Billings’ already bad week.
Juliette’s Rescue Mission And the Algorithm’s Counter-Move
Now that her memory is back, Juliette knows the most important thing that she should know; Jimmy, also called Solo, and the children are very much alive in Silo 17. It is the same Silo 17 that looks like Silo 18, and the blueprint shows where the Safeguard’s gas line comes in through for Judicial. Bernard, who has been admitted to Martha’s workshop by Kennedy and Lukas, reveals the horrible truth about two separate lines coming to both the IT and Judicial areas.
Juliette finds Camille and confesses that she has her memories back, requesting the Algorithm for permission to embark on a rescue mission to Silo 17. Of course, the Algorithm calculates the probability and denies, saying that the mission will be unsuccessful. In an attempt to persuade the Algorithm, Juliette proposes one deal after another. She is willing to start taking the pills again, get the rescued children drugged by the Algorithm, and dispatch people other than herself. Her first suggestions are Knox and Shirley, who also turn out to be too much worth the risk.
The algorithm accepts the mission but only formally. But what Algorithm does not say out loud is that Camille will never see Kyle and Kennedy arriving at Silo 17. What happens is that Vitamin D+ is being pumped into the water supply to nullify Juliette’s effect. And in the most sinister turn of the episode, it becomes clear that Camille has been pumping vitamins into the water two hours before Juliette even enters the building.
Trouble in the Sims Household
When Camille decides to release memory-erasing chemicals into the whole silo’s water system, it feels more like a very expensive tantrum than a rational act of government management, and the show seems to confirm this perspective. Her marriage to Robert is falling apart because of the secrets they keep from each other, Anthony has become a dishonest thief who steals things at school, and Camille is becoming more and more reliant on the Algorithm as her only true companion. She gets the validation that she lacks from the people in her life from the AI who has access to the gas line.
Robert, on the other hand, has more to hide than any man his age can manage without a bloody nose, having to keep Bernard a secret, subvert his wife’s authority, and work against the system that he is supposed to uphold. If this marriage makes it through the season, it will be one for the books like the Pez dispenser trick.
Billings Has a Very Bad Day
Pity poor Sheriff Paul Billings, who learns during this episode the true extent to which Silo 18 residents hate him. While investigating the stolen light bulb incident and probing further into the death of Orla Kent, Billings is reprimanded by a man named Mark for being uninterested in the Raider murder case while the rebellion was ongoing. Desperate for answers, Billings offers up the names of the Raiders involved in exchange for information about a tip that Knox’s estranged father may have used when he sold diamond drill bits illegally.
Knox is not any friendlier than Mark ever was, but Shirley manages to persuade him to put his issues with his father to the side to assist her. After Knox manages to locate where his father may be, he is informed that his father died two years ago, quite a dead end.
On the other hand, Billings insists that Emerson gets the footage from the surveillance cameras from the day when the mines were gassed. While Orla does not appear on the tapes, Glenda does, as she mysteriously disappears into the mines at the same time that she had been seen in Supply. This is certainly not something a silo inhabitant would usually do, and may prove crucial in figuring out who is responsible for Orla’s death and bulb thefts.
Backseat Drivers in the Before Times
As for Daniel and Helen, they’re back in the Before Times and they’re both trapped in the self-driving hell ride of a van with no clue as to who’s driving it or where it’s taking them. Forced proximity works wonders with their will-they-wont-they dynamic as apparently, being hidden in a weird autonomous vehicle counts as bonding, regardless of Helen’s refusal to refer to this as a date.
Their plan to have the driverless van reported falls flat quickly enough when the police come into the picture, and they’ve actually come to pick up Daniel and Helen, led by the same bizarre fixer who had tried to bribe Daniel and Helen earlier in the season. The ride ends with Daniel and Helen at a private airfield where Senator Thurman waits with an offer you can’t refuse to help save the world.
Silo Season 3 Episode 7 Predictions
The Drive served as the “table-setter” episode, which implies that there will be many guns pointed to the mantelpiece by the time we get to episode 7. Here is how we see the show unfolding from here:
- The Vitamin D+ overdose experiment fails miserably, given the contamination of the water, causing the favorites of Juliette to be losing badly.
- This rescue mission between Lukas and Kennedy fails miserably. The Algorithm had predicted they would fail to reach Silo 17, be it through betrayal, sabotage, or even ambush.
- Camille’s marriage, if not everything else, begins to crumble. With all of Robert’s secret dealings and Anthony behaving so out of control, Camille’s hold on her authority seems less secure than she thinks.
- Glenda is now the key suspect in the Orla murder case. The show is not going to throw such a clue lightly; thus, expect Billings to home in on Glenda next.
- The real intention of Senator Thurman is revealed here. In this series, the phrase “saving the world” hardly ever implies what it actually says. Daniel and Helen are going to be entangled in the silo-building business much more than expected.
- The importance of Bernard for the resistance grows. Having stabilized and become communicative, Bernard knows too many things about the Order and the entire silo network to remain on the sidelines.
This episode made us realize that “The Drive” shows us that there isn’t always a need for a major plot twist each week from Silo. Sometimes watching the dominoes set up can make you even more nervous than when they all come falling down. Because of the contaminated water, a mock rescue, and the involvement of Senator Thurman in this story, episode 7 will definitely be far from boring.
